Caring for a Fox as an Exotic Pet

For most people foxes are wild animals that are best left alone in their natural inhabitants. However, there are some people who have discovered the pleasure of maintaining a fox as a pet. It may surprise some, but the care of a fox as exotic pets may not be as difficult as it seems.

Knowing Foxes
Foxes can be just like dogs. They require a lot of attention and socialization. They are very energetic, active and curious. These intelligent creatures are also cunning, and flexible. They can escape easily, and therefore it is important to see that they are uncertain about what they might to avoid losing them.
Foxes have distinctive odors caused by the oil and sweat glands. To prevent the smell, it is important to keep them in a cool, well-ventilated area to avoid excessively secret oils. Occasional bathing may also be advisable, but too much can cause dry bath that exacerbates the secretion of odor-causing oils.

Making a House Fox
Foxes can be very treated like dogs, but they should be put in cages in ensuring that they are not seeing as they can easily escape. Having a fox as exotic pets can be rewarding. These little critters can be a great partner and perhaps a best friend as well.
